is Director of the Digital Public Library of America Secretariat at the Berkman Center at Harvard University. As Executive Director of the Open Knowledge Commons, she worked to catalyse and fund collaborative digital library initiatives. Previously, she founded the digital library program at the Boston Public Library and was responsible for its dedication to open principles. Her interests are in cultural heritage, collaboration and the promotion of all types of open knowledge. Before coming to libraries she studied literature and worked in the rare book trade, museums and the film business in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and the UK.

She holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, an M.A. from Middlebury College and an M.S.L.I.S. from Simmons College.
