EuropeanaConnect Kick-off meeting

The kick-off meeting of EuropeanaConnect took place 29th and 30th May. Topics on the agenda included a 'Presentation of the Status Quo and the Vision of Europeana', presentation and discussions of the main goals and interrelations of all the work packages of EuropeanaConnect, details on project management and administration, deliverables and a projection of the results of the project. The technical implementation of EuropeanaConnect will enable the development of an operational Europeana service by April 2011, including clarification of the licensing of copyright materials, user-friendly interfaces and integration of services such as e-books-on-demand, multilingual searching, and a Europeana version for hand-held devices. Key project results will be the development of essential technical components for Europeana as well as adding the music dimension to Europeana.eu, by making more than 100.000 audio files accessible.
